Dear Parents,
Jazz ‘n Shiraz Family Gourmet Festival, what a glorious day it was. How wonderful to showcase our beautiful grounds at the base of Mandeville Hall. It was indeed a picture with the white marquees, blue picnic rugs, green grass on the oval and happy families enjoying the music and the gourmet delights. Our little ones especially loved the Kids Corner decorating their chef’s hats and aprons.
Such an event requires much preparation and I am indebted to the hard work of the Development Office and I thank Mrs Rose Doolan for orchestrating the many facets of the day with her Stallholder Coordinators, Mrs Sarah Perrett, Mrs Loretta Cinque, Miss Kathryn Russell-Clarke and Ms Kerry O’Dowd. Thank you to the Stallholder Managers, Miss Yvette Stanley, Mrs Glenys Mattei, Mr Roger Gill, Mr Andrew Schmidt, Mrs Karen Sheldon, Mrs Clare Wilson, Mrs Louise Date, Ms Tricia Bergin, Mr Peter Walsh, Ms Karen Howarth, Mrs Christine Walsh and Mrs Mardi Tovey. Our gratitude to the musicians, Rosa/Horbelt/Sedergreen Trio and Ms Wendy Anderson, the Middle Stage Band and Stage Band, for creating such a swinging mood. Special thanks to Mr Gesie Di Sciascio and the maintenance staff for their extraordinary work before, during and after the event. Thank you to staff and parents over all areas of the School for your enthusiastic participation.
The launch of Loreto Cooks has the whole School community abuzz for it is truly a stunning publication; for the development of the book and for all the time spent in trialling so many of the recipes, we thank again Mrs Linda George, Mr John Della for the production and Mrs Karen Quist for her writing and editing.
Many generous families and friends have made contributions to the day to boost the fundraising results. I thank most sincerely for your gifts of products: Mr Roberto Scheriani, Mr Tony Esposito, Mrs Mary Bevilacqua, Lisa and John Milionis, Lesley and Roger Gillespie, Miss Nerida Sullivan, Mrs Phillippa Grogan, Mr Andy Ralph, Sodexho, Mrs Amanda Tehan, Mr Carlo Vaccari, Mr Peter Nikolakopoulos and Mr Andrew Gibb.
We have sold a thousand copies of Loreto Cooks already but we now have 2000 more to sell. We need the whole community to get behind the marketing and ensure that every girl in the School has her own copy to keep for posterity. Please look at your Christmas shopping list and make sure that you have numerous copies to give as gifts. Please contact the Development Office on 9823 8167 to purchase Loreto Cooks.
Every Blessing,
Dr Susan Stevens
