Loreto helps Fight MND
Over the last few weeks, to coincide with Big Freeze 4 on the Queen’s Birthday Monday at the MCG, students at Loreto Toorak have been engaged in raising awareness of and funds for the work of Fight MND. FightMND led by Neale Daniher is a registered not-for-profit Australian health promotion charity. It is Australia’s leading independent MND foundation focused on funding large-scale, collaborative research, clinical trials, and improved care for all Australians living with Motor Neurone Disease. Find out more at www.fightmnd.org.auOur Year 6 leaders, organised by Scarlett Baker, sold Big Freeze Beanies to girls across the school, leading to a sea of blue heads trooping in and out of the gates each day. The Year 6s raised over $3900 through these sales in a tremendous team effort.
Our Year 11 students, under the coordination of Meg Baker, held a Big Freeze Blue Bake Sale this week, coordinating their year level to prepare a delicious variety of blue decorated sweet treats. The stall raised $1900 in record time.We are pleased and proud to support the work of Fight MND with over $5000 raised in our school community. Congratulations and sincere thanks to all involved.
