Rathfarnham Art and Active Pop Up Day- Champions Announced

From early on in our collective experience of Remote Learning, it was clear through feedback from both staff and parents, of the importance for students in maintaining a healthy balance of engaged teacher-facilitated learning, coupled with time away from their screens. This was a primary concept that Loreto Toorak aimed to incorporate into our Remote Teaching and Learning approach.

So in one of the many screen-free days scheduled for students throughout this time, on Friday 28 August, Rathfarnham students revelled in the opportunity for a positivity and wellbeing focussed, Art & Active Day organised by two of our Rathfarnham treasures, Whitney Beseler, Head of Rathfarnham Sport, and Kellie Altus, Rathfarnham Art Teacher.

Facilitated by two of our Rathfarnham treasures,  the girls were introduced to the plethora of artistic, creative, physically challenging and overwhelmingly funny and fun activities to spend their day - all in the spirit of earning the most points for their House, with the aim of being crowned Art & Active Day House Champions. We are delighted to announce that the winning house is Mulhall, Barry (2nd), Mornane (3rd) and Ward (4th) Well done to all the girls who participated.

Some of the activities included a handstand challenge, a sock-pegging frenzy, wall-sit warrior, the ball and frypan challenge, cup-flipping, chopstick replay and plenty more to engage the competitive and creative spirit for their House.

The feedback from students was nothing but positive, with many engaging their family members in a whole house activity day!

“What a brilliant idea, thank you so much. I had so much fun with my sisters”, shared Sienna (Year 4).

“Thank you so much for organising this awesome day, I really enjoyed doing all the activities with my family”, shared Arabella (Year 5).

“I had such a fun day and I hope we can do it again soon!”, shared Pearl (Year 3).
