It is a tradition at Loreto Toorak to come together at the conclusion of Term 2 and focus on Simply Sharing. It is the time that the weather is becoming bleak and we turn our thoughts to those in Melbourne that are vulnerable and in need. This year, more than ever, due to the pandemic crisis, we as a felicitous community are resolved to ease the suffering of many that are experiencing hunger and homelessness.
Students across both campuses have kindly started to bring non-perishable grocery items for our food drive for the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre. We are also proud to support Sacred Heart Mission who, in particular, assist women and their children in a time of need. The Sacred Heart Mission have requested that we donate supermarket gift vouchers to give these women empowerment while supporting their young families.
We encourage all Loreto Toorak families to contribute generously to our Simply Sharing drive this year. On Wednesday 17 June all the donations received will be collected and distributed to the mentioned charities.
