A Heritage of Connection

Mary Ward, our foundress, had a dream: to educate girls, whatever their circumstances. Over the past four centuries, the Loreto Sisters have supported that dream, as we at Loreto Toorak do today.

Like Mary Ward, we believe in the power of education in changing lives, providing a pathway for girls to achieve great things and learn to become active and generous contributors to society. We are guided by Mary Ward’s vision that, through the gift of education, “women in time to come will do much.”

We invite you to help us continue the legacy of Mary Ward by making a tax-deductible donation to support others through Loreto Toorak. Your donation can be made to the Building Fund or Scholarship Fund, or you may like to consider a Bequest to the School in your Will.

Please contact the Engagement Office for a confidential discussion on how your support can make a difference.

Every gift, regardless of size, is important and sends a powerful message that our community believes in the School and its educational vision.

Scholarship Fund

At Loreto Toorak we educate the whole person, preparing girls to take a full role in the world. In the spirit of Mary Ward, we believe in girls and in their hopes and dreams. And for a better world and how she will build it – upon the foundations of freedom, justice, sincerity, verity and felicity. This dream is alive and is the right of every girl. You can help them become ‘seekers of truth and doers of justice’. Help us change the world by supporting our Scholarship Fund.

Donations to the Scholarship Fund enable those not able to afford a Loreto education to have the opportunity to attend our wonderful School. This Fund will ensure that Loreto Toorak remains accessible to a diverse community into the future.

Building Fund

Over the past 100 years on this site, Loreto Toorak has offered an education that empowers girls to make a difference in this world. Whilst the educational needs of our students have changed dramatically during this time, the values of a Loreto education have remained the same. Loreto Toorak is proud to offer a Catholic education that liberates, empowers and motivates students to use their individual gifts with confidence, creativity and generosity.

To ensure Loreto Toorak continues to offer an education of the highest quality, it is essential that our facilities continue to provide optimal learning environments for all students and staff.

Your donation to the Loreto Toorak Building Fund will assist us in developing facilities that meet the educational needs of our students now and into the future.

Giving Circles

Loreto Toorak values the support of all donors, with all donations acknowledged with a receipt and thank you letter. Unless otherwise requested, donor names only (not amounts) are listed in the December edition of the Mandevillian. All donors are also invited to attend our annual Thanksgiving Liturgy held towards the end of the year.

Those who have donated at a level of $25,000 or more during their lifetime are invited to join one of our Giving Circles. Should you be interested in learning more about our Giving Circles, please contact the Engagement Office for a confidential discussion.

A Gift to Loreto Toorak in Your Will is a Gift to Education

Many worthy students dream of being able to attend Loreto Toorak, as does Loreto Toorak dream of being able to accommodate them. With your assistance, you can help us achieve this. After making provisions for your family and other beneficiaries, a bequest to Loreto Toorak is one of the most meaningful and enduring gifts to give. Whatever the size or form, all bequests provide crucial support and strengthen the School’s future.

If you decide to make a gift in your Will, you will be supporting a community aligned with your own values, a belief determined by Mary Ward and embraced by the Sisters of the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary, our Loreto Sisters. That belief is upheld by all young women, educators and associated community members who have represented our Loreto Crest.

The Silk Circle, established in 2014 and named after the Reception Room with its silk wall hangings in Mandeville Hall, recognises the generosity and support of those who have chosen to leave a gift to Loreto Toorak in their Will. Joining allows us to keep in close contact - should you wish - and enables us to give you regular, insightful updates on the School. Additionally, you are invited to special events hosted by the School and a very special Annual Luncheon attended by other members and our Chair of the School Board. Membership includes all ages and comprises alumni, past parents and both former and current staff.

Loreto Toorak has DGR status, which means it pays no tax on gifts of money or property made either during your lifetime or on your death. Please contact Catherine Maimone Crowhurst - Head of Engagement for a confidential discussion on your bequest options.
