Catherine Green - Class Of 1993

Catherine Green

FROM PARTICIPATING IN PAF TO PRODUCING A FEATURE-LENGTH DOCUMENTARY

Loreto Toorak Alumna Catherine Green (1993) is a producer, director and writer. As a passionate storyteller, she loves working in the commercial, creative and NFP spheres, utilising the power of media to bring a brand’s story to life.

“I loved school and have many fond memories. I enjoyed the academic side and learning from great teachers. I also played a lot of sport, took singing lessons and loved the Performing Arts Festival every year. Interestingly, they are all activities that I continued after graduating, so I think the opportunity to partake in a variety of activities in those formative years helped me find the things I love and gave me confidence in doing them. But the main thing that comes to mind when I think of school is my friendships. Most of my closest friends to this day are from Loreto Toorak. They’re all strong, interesting, fun, supportive women, and I’m really lucky to have them. Earlier this year, six of us caught up and had lunch together. "

Catherine’s work as a freelance director/producer keeps her busy and engaged. In between creating content for corporate and NFP clients, she is also currently developing her first feature-length documentary after receiving development funding from Film Victoria. The documentary, Francesca, You, Me, is about learning disabilities, neuroplasticity, education and the brain.

Her love for different and varied projects, combined with a passion for telling people’s stories has led her the relatively new, but quickly growing, content area of podcasts. Catherine produces William & Lonsdale - Lives in the Law, which highlights the legal ecosystem and the fascinating people who make it tick, and Line of Credit, an investment focused show for Merricks Capital. She also works with clients like The Red Cross Blood Service, RMIT, AustralianSuper and KPMG to create live-action videos and animations.

Catherine thoroughly enjoys working on different projects, each with different audiences, styles and budgets which means each project is a new creative challenge.
