MASTERING FINANCE

Olivia attended Loreto Toorak from Year 5 and was elected as 2007 Captain of School in her final year. Her fondest memories include involvement in Snowsports, Debating, PE classes, and annual Feast Days.

After graduation, Olivia completed one semester of Bachelor of Environments at the University of Melbourne before switching to a Bachelor of Commerce. Following, she undertook a Masters of Finance.

Olivia's first full-time job was in the Investment Team at AustralianSuper. Her current role in Yarra Capital Management involves researching ASX-listed companies to select the strongest performers; she recently expanded her portfolio to include technology and media companies. Despite academic research revealing that females are more adept to investing compared to male counterparts, the industry remains 90-95% male-dominated. Olivia hopes for a more balanced industry from a gender perspective in the near future.

A few years ago, Olivia took a week-long trip to San Francisco to research autonomous and electric vehicles. She met with various industry participants including Uber, Lyft, numerous car manufacturers and insurers. It was an interesting trip, where she learned a great deal about the future of mobility, as well as where the best investment opportunities lie for the future.

Olivia thoroughly enjoyed her time at Loreto Toorak and acknowledges the education she received established the foundation for her to have a fantastic career, a love for sports, and most importantly, enduring friendships.
