Loreto Toorak Students with Bionics Institute Mentors

Year 10 students Bethany, Eleanor, Felicia, and Mara met their mentors, Associate Professors Rachael Richardson and Sharna Jamadar, for the first time at the Bionics Institute.

The four students are taking part in the Bionics Institute Girls in STEM Mentoring Program this year. To inspire young women to choose a career in STEM, the Bionics Institute initiated this Mentoring Program as a way to encourage secondary school students to study science, technology, engineering, or mathematics at university. Through the Program, students work with leading female scientists in a combination of online sessions and site visits.

The Program culminates in October with a presentation of their research.
