The School community gathered this morning on St Michael’s Green for our Opening School Mass, led by Father John Martis SJ. Through words, symbols, and music, and set amongst our beautiful grounds, the celebration was a time of thoughtful prayer and reflection on Ash Wednesday, as we commence the season of Lent.
At the beginning of Mass, our Year 12 students led the Preparatory class to their first School Mass. A significant milestone in their journey as Loreto Toorak students.
The Loreto Year of Justice was officially launched by our Captains of School, Ella and Stephanie, who shared their insights on how we are called as Loreto people to be “seekers of truth and doers of justice", formed by our faith and the example of Mary Ward. During Mass, 2022 Captains of School, Elena and Isabel, presented Ella and Stephanie with the traditional School Captains Silver Crosses which were blessed by Father John.
We look forward to this Loreto Year of Justice together and thank all who helped prepare and lead our Opening School Mass.
