On 26 February, the Loreto Toorak Triathlon Team travelled to Altona Beach where they competed against 23 other GSV schools in the Girls’ Secondary School Triathlon Event. The course included a 300m swim, a 10km bike ride and a 3km run. The School was represented with seven individuals who competed in the full course and twelve teams across the Junior, Intermediate and Senior courses.
Congratulations to the following students and teams who had a Top 10 finish:
Junior Individual – Aoife (Year 8)
Junior Team – Loreto 4 and Loreto 1
Intermediate Individual – Sophie (Year 10)
Intermediate Team – Loreto 6 and Loreto 7
Senior Individual – Bridie (Year 12) and Cleo (Year 11)
The overall tally saw Loreto Toorak as a very close runner-up, a mere three points behind the winning school.
A month after GSV Triathlon, over 180 students across Years 5 – 12 competed in the 2XU Triathlon in St Kilda on 26 March. It was an exciting day and our students performed strongly in lovely conditions. This event brought the triathlon season to a close.
