Year 6 Camp to Canberra
Year 6 Camp to Canberra

Last week, 101 students and 13 teachers headed out of the Loreto Toorak gates and onto a plane to Canberra for Year 6 Camp.

The four-day camp contained a busy schedule for students. Activities included learning about our nation’s parliamentary system at Parliament House, the Electoral Education Centre, and the Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House. Our students took an interactive journey through Australian science history at CSIRO Discovery Centre where they devised solutions to our greatest challenges in energy, environment, agriculture and much more. No trip to Canberra is complete without a visit to the Australian War Memorial and the Anzac Parade Memorial Walk. The trip also included Aboriginal Storytelling with author and performer Larry Brandy (Wiradjuri).
