24 Jul 2025 back to previous Planting a Legacy: Magnolia Tree Marks 150 Years of Loreto in Australia On National Schools Tree Day, Loreto Toorak marked a significant milestone by planting a new Magnolia tree in honour of 150 years of Loreto in Australia and in particular, the legacy of Mother Gonzaga Barry. Coinciding with the week of her birthday and Loreto Heritage Day, the occasion brought together representatives from across the school for a special liturgy and tree planting ceremony. Despite the grey skies, the sound of birdsong filled our garden as we reflected on Mother Gonzaga’s deep appreciation for the sacredness of nature and the beauty of our environment. back to previous
