Music Teacher Sessional (Piano)

The position
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Piano Teacher to join our thriving and established Music Department.
Your tasks & responsibilities will include:
- Teach an allocated list of instrumental students, from beginner to advanced levels
- Liaise with the Director of Music and the Head of Keyboard in relation to student progress, repertoire, student assessment and performances and the welfare and pastoral needs of the students
- Foster a standard of excellence in music performance in examinations, recitals, concerts and other performance activities
- Bring new and creative initiatives and resources to the teaching of their instrument
- Monitor the general progress, commitment, musical development, behaviour, enthusiasm and active involvement of all instrumental students
- Effectively communicate with parents regarding the progress of their daughter; this will include report writing each Semester
- The ability to teach Grades 5 & 6 Music Theory/Musicianship and/or advanced accompaniment skills are highly desirable.

- Proven record of excellence in teaching and performance
- An enthusiastic and inclusive approach to teaching with the ability to motivate participation from differing levels and abilities
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills
- Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
- Display a high level of self-awareness and the ability to maintain positive relationships
- Ability to work flexibly under minimal supervision
- Good IT skills and experience with Microsoft Programs
A current National Criminal History Check and Working with Children Check is essential. VIT Registration is preferred, however not essential.
This position will commence in Term 3, 2022 and will comprise approximately two (2) days – Mondays and Fridays with some flexibility.
